Weekend Spoil.....

On the weekend after work i thought i would stop past the local beauty supply store and buy some nail polish. For some reason i have this need to buy polish instead of cosmetics.... very strange...

So i bought, from left to right, Rainbow, Awakening n VII in China Glaze nail polish and i also got a Benefit lipgloss for free with a magazine.

Benefit Lipgloss in : "Didn't Hear it From Me"

This gloss smells like vanilla and is smoothing on my lips. The downside of it though is that after wearing it for the whole day it actually left this film on my lips which looked kinda dirty... ewww ;p But all in all it was for free so i am not too fussed....

just some random piccies of my makeup over the past couple of days.

The photo just below was taken with a shimmer type makeup and my hubby thinks the matte foundation (which is the one below this one) looks better but i can't tell much of a difference?



I do have to admit though that the foundation does last longer with the matte foundation as opposed to the dewy finish.

Anyways that's about it really.... not much to report! Till next time lovelies! ;p

Ballroom Trial

So tonight i did a trial makeup on my friend for her ballroom dancing and i gotta say i really enjoyed it!

I used to do it a LONG time ago and not stress about it, but now that i am studying it i get really stressed out about whether i have done it right or not. I was really happy with the first one i did.


So this is the BEFORE shot!


And this is the AFTER:




The reason she is holding the piece of material (is NOT cos she is a dag or that i thought it was cool ;p ) is because her dresses have not been made yet and we needed to be sure that the colours we had chosen were correct for the dress she was wearing. I LOVE these colours on her cos it makes her eyes look more green and stand out more.

In hindsight i probably should've taken more pics with her eyes shut etc so you could see the design and also so i could critique myself but it was just too late. Right now it's 1150pm and we only just finished and i also have to work tomorrow morning (BLURGH on a SATURDAY!!!). But i guess i can do all that stuff on the day and at least we weill have the dresses to get the full effect!

The next look was a bit of a blunder!!!! We just totally picked the wrong colours. The colour of her next dress is BRIGHT orange... like NEON! (eg the colour that is in the bottom left of the picture below) We needed extremely bright colours but the ones that i had just were not working so i will have to go and buy some or find something quick smart from my old kit!

Otherwise i think i did okay but i know i can do better!!! I am sure it will be fine on the day as i have done this for her SO many times...
Anyways good night all!!! Hopefully i get some sleep!! All in all a good trial!!! She was happy so that's all that counts!

The Makeup Store

I FINALLY tried out the products from "The Makeup Store" which i brought on the school makeup trip!!!


The foundation felt SO nice on my face but it definitely more of a sheer coverage..... so i now have a sheer cover foundation and a heavier one (the MAC foundation that i originally had).

The loose powder was ok, it is a very fine powder but it just didn't have the staying power that i am used to. but as i said before all the products still feel really nice on the face. Sometimes i find that the MAC ones are a little heavy and tend to make me feel like my pores are building up dirt....

The eye primer was AWESOME!!!! it literally made my eyeshadow stay put COMPLETELY....!!! Even after 12 hours it still stayed put and i have tried everything i can to make it stay that way but nothing ever did til now!......

I LOVE these shimmers but am yet to find a really good base colour for me...... everything i try is either too white or too pink..... i am still on the hunt! ;p
